bIRMINGHAM
We’re in Birmingham in the very early hours 6 days a week. The process takes on average 3 hours a morning. Liaising with sellers and searching for the best in class with each and every line.
local growers
We love nothing more than championing produce from local growers. During the summer season we join up with Rectory Farm, Sandy Lane, Wykham Park and North Aston Organics to name a few. If you think you’ve got something special to offer then get in touch, we’d love to hear from you!
LONDON
2025 and we’re back in London for the first time in 35 years. New Covent Garden, a hub for catering excellence enabling us to reach new heights. Whilst David frequents Birmingham, Tom sets off south, dividing and conquering to ensure the best produce in the country is on our vans.
FEBRUARY news
Rhubarb continues to steal the headlines in Feb. But it’s the Yorkshire triangle of candle lit forced Rhubarb that every chef wants to get their hands on. From New York to Soho this incredible harvesting practice has produced the world’s best Rhubarb since the late 1800’s. Grown in dark sheds across Yorkshire with only a small candle light to strive for ensuring the stalks are packed full of unrivalled pink power.
Seville Oranges roll over from Jan for those Marmalade lovers. The turn of the month sees the turn in availability with only a few weeks left on these ugly old things.
Navels however have only just kicked off. Their unique look, one that some even avoid in the supermarket (can you believe it) sees an undeveloped twin poking through. A completely natural mutation that was first discovered in Brazil in the early 1800s. This is what makes the Navel completely seedless. No GMO here!
Jan & Feb always causes a spike in basic salad lines. From Dutch to Spanish we go - the UK always fronts the brunt of some pretty hefty prices on household essentials. Surprisingly this year hasn’t been as bad as recent and with the first few signs of prices dropping on Aubergine, Courgette & Capsicums maybe there’s light at the end of the tunnel
About
our company
Unlike most in the industry, we don’t boast a warehouse stacked full of produce waiting around to be sold.
In fact, ours is pretty empty and that’s just the way we like it!
Fewer suppliers than ever are prepared to walk the line in the young hours of the morning in this day and age, instead opting for the easier route by ordering over the telephone from major importers. We get it, it makes for a much easier life, but that’s not a real supplier.
